Who we are
CodeIsGold Inc is a software development company. We are the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@codeisgold.com.
What we collect
We collect two kinds of information, and only these.
Information you give us. When you send an enquiry — by email, or through a form on this site — we receive what you choose to tell us. That typically includes your name, email address, company name, and a description of the work you need. Some forms also ask about your timeline and the budget you have in mind. A phone number is optional and only collected if you provide one.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device type, and the website or advertisement that referred you. Where we run advertising, this includes an identifier that lets us see which ad led to an enquiry.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss the work you are asking about.
- To prepare a scope and a quote if you ask us for one.
- To understand which pages and advertisements bring people to us, so we spend our advertising budget sensibly.
- To protect this website from automated abuse and spam.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We will not add you to a mailing list because you sent us an enquiry — if we ever offer one, it will be a separate choice you make deliberately, and you will be able to leave it at any time.
Where it is stored
Enquiry details are stored on Microsoft Azure, and are accessible only to us. Email is handled by our email provider in order to deliver messages between us. Website analytics and advertising measurement are provided by Google, who process that data under their own terms. These providers may store or process information outside your country.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for two years from your last contact with us, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. After that they are deleted. If we work together, project records are kept for as long as we have a business relationship and for seven years afterwards, which is what our tax and accounting obligations require. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics service, and does not identify you by name.
Cookies and similar technology
This site uses cookies and similar storage for two purposes: to remember your progress if you are part-way through a form, and to measure website and advertising performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using the site, though a part-completed form may not be remembered.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Email info@codeisgold.com and we will respond within thirty days. You do not need to give a reason, and asking costs nothing.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to the people who need it to reply to you. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not collect payment card details or any other sensitive category of information through this website.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
